Locally listed building

A locally listed building is identified by a council for local heritage interest but is not on the national statutory list. Local listing does not itself create a consent regime like statutory listing, yet it is a material planning consideration.

Article 4 directions sometimes protect locally listed houses from harmful PD alterations.

Local listing practice exists across the UK but legal effects vary by planning system.
