Home Builders is an independent London home-building news and guides website. We explain planning, costs, building regulations and party walls in plain English, and we advertise independent local builders so homeowners can request quotes in one place. We do not carry out building work.

Editorial policy

Sourcing

We base guidance on primary and official sources wherever possible, such as GOV.UK, the Planning Portal, legislation, Approved Documents and council publications, and we link to them in each article. Where we use industry data, such as cost benchmarks, we name and link the source, and we label figures we could not match to a single published source as indicative.

Accuracy and review

Every guide shows a publication date and a last-reviewed date. We review guides when rules change and at least periodically, and update the last-reviewed date when we do.

Use of AI tools

Some articles are drafted with the help of AI writing tools. Every AI-assisted draft is checked by a person against the cited sources for accuracy before publication, and we do not publish invented statistics, quotes or people.
