Advertiser terms

Last updated: 13 October 2026. This is a standard template, not legal advice. Specific packages and prices are agreed separately in writing.

1. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to any builder, trade or business ("you") that advertises or is listed on homebuilders.co.uk, which is operated by Web Designer Limited (company number 15002899, registered in England and Wales; registered office: 119a Flat 2 Uxbridge Road, London, United Kingdom, W7 3ST), trading as Home Builders ("Home Builders", "we", "us"). Contact: [email protected], 119 Uxbridge Road, London W7 3ST.

2. Listing standards

  • You must be a genuine, trading business able to carry out the work you advertise, in the areas you say you cover.
  • You must comply with all laws that apply to your business, including building regulations, health and safety, consumer protection and data protection law.
  • You must respond to homeowner enquiries promptly, honestly and professionally.

3. Insurance

Before you are listed, you must provide proof of current public liability insurance appropriate to the work you advertise. Where you employ staff, you must hold employer's liability insurance as required by law. You must keep your insurance in force while listed, provide updated evidence on renewal or on request, and tell us immediately if any cover lapses or is cancelled.

4. Accurate claims

All information you give us or that appears in your listing, including business details, services, accreditations, memberships, reviews, photographs and experience, must be accurate, current and not misleading. You must have the rights to any material you supply, and you are responsible for it.

5. Homeowner enquiries and data

Where a homeowner consents, we may share their enquiry with you. You become a separate controller of that personal data, must use it only to respond to that enquiry, must keep it secure and must comply with UK data protection law. You must not resell it or use it for unrelated marketing.

6. No guarantee of leads

We do not guarantee any number, quality or value of enquiries, contracts, website visits or rankings. Whether a homeowner contacts you or hires you is their decision.

7. Your relationship with homeowners

Any contract for work is solely between you and the homeowner. We are not a party to it and are not responsible for your work, quotes, pricing, delays or disputes. You must not state or suggest that we endorse, guarantee or supervise your work.

8. Suspension and removal

We may refuse, suspend, edit or remove any listing at our discretion, including if you do not provide or maintain insurance evidence, if information is inaccurate, if we receive credible complaints, or if you breach these terms or the law.

9. Payment

Advertising packages, fees, billing periods and payment terms are agreed separately in writing before your listing goes live. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, fees are not refundable where a listing is removed for breach of these terms.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with your listing is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. You agree to be responsible for losses we suffer as a result of claims arising from your work or your breach of these terms. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will give advertisers reasonable notice of material changes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
