Glossary
Listed building
A listed building is one placed on the statutory list for special architectural or historic interest. Listing covers the whole building, including interiors and pre-1948 curtilage structures, unless the list entry says otherwise.
Works that affect character need listed building consent as well as any planning permission.
Each UK nation maintains its own list and consent process.
