Energy Performance Certificate
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rates a building’s energy efficiency and recommends improvements. An EPC is required when a property is built, sold or rented, with limited exemptions.
Extension and renovation work can change the rating; keep certificates for compliance and marketing.
EPC frameworks are UK-wide in outline but registers and banding rules have nation-specific details.
