Class A permitted development
Class A of the England GPDO covers many enlargements and alterations of houses, including some rear and side extensions within size, height and materials limits. Larger rear extensions may need prior approval.
Flats, maisonettes and some houses created by conversion are excluded. Always read the current Order and local constraints.
Class letters are specific to England’s GPDO (Wales has a related order). Scotland and NI use different classes/schedules.
