Building warrant

A building warrant is the Scottish approval you normally need before starting building work that is subject to building standards. It is roughly analogous to Building Regulations approval in England, but the process and forms differ.

A completion certificate follows when the work is finished to the verifier’s satisfaction.

Building warrants are a Scotland requirement. England, Wales and NI use Building Regulations applications instead.
