Building Safety Regulator
The Building Safety Regulator (BSR) oversees the safety and performance of buildings in England, with a particular focus on higher-risk buildings. It sits within the Health and Safety Executive.
For most ordinary householder projects the BSR is not your day-to-day contact; local Building Control still leads. Higher-risk and certain dutyholder rules still matter to the wider industry.
The BSR regime described here is for England. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland operate separate building-safety arrangements.
